ndThe design idea
The sun is shining, there isn’t a breath of wind. Our Zambezi Teak Sun Lounger is perfect for enjoying such good weather. Made with wide strips of timber, it can be raised at the front, adding to its comfort.
The practical design goes beyond the end use of enjoying the sun, but provides an easy way to move the lounger. Carved handles and wheels attached to one end allow you to follow the sun, while the expansion mortice and tennon joints bring durability to the product.
Using a material as hard and sustainable as Zambezi Teak, any weakness found in the design would have to be man made. With this in mind, the over-compensation underlying the elegant design ensures life-long lounging support and comfort to the buyer. The wood has the added benefit of being too dense for insects or wood-pests to burrow into. These wooden pool loungers best retain their polished sheen when oiled every few months.

About Zambezi Teak
Zambezi Teak, formerly known as Rhodesian Teak, is one of the hardest and most durable timbers in the world. In 1952 a worldwide enquiry was instituted that explored every possible timber to find the most suitable material for making the floors of the London Corn Exchange. It had to be of particular hardness and durability because of the heavy use to which it would be put. It also had to withstand the damaging effect of the corn kernels ground underfoot. After much deliberation, a decision was reached to make the floors out of Zambezi Teak. It was quite simply the toughest timber in the world to make the floors from.
