Butler’s Tray Coffee Table

R7,000.00

The Butler’s Tray Coffee Table is an adaption of our much loved Butler’s Tray. It makes a superb small coffee table with the sides either folded or flat when the top is 940mm (37 1/2 “) x 640mm (25 1/2 “).

The legs are detachable and pack neatly into the underside of the table, making it ideal for shipping. The hinges are snap hinges constructed from solid brass of exceptional quality.

The design

The Butler’s Tray Coffee Table design is based on Classic Butler’s Tray. The Butler’s Tray was originally developed in England in the eighteenth century. The oval top of the coffee table has sides that fold up as required. Ideal for displaying your favourite coffee table books.

Material and fittings

The tables may be constructed from Zambezi teak (Rhodesian teak) or African mahogany. The solid brass snap hinges are imported from overseas and are of the finest quality, snapping open to 90 degrees when the tray sides are lifted up.

The size of the Butler’s Tray Coffee Table when folded out is 940 millimetres (thirty seven and a half inches) by 640 millimetres (twenty six inches). With sides folded, the tray is 700 millimetres (twenty-eight inches) by 400 millimetres (sixteen inches).

To protect your lacquered finish Butler’s Tray Coffee Table place it away from direct sunlight. Apply a good furniture wax or polish, initially twice a month, thereafter once a month. Apply sufficient to thinly cover the surface. As it dries (becomes dull) buff with a clean cloth until a beautiful sheen is achieved. Between waxings, keep the finish clean with a soft cloth or duster, and buff without wax.
