The Design

We have been producing the Safari Coffee Table with its accompanying side table for over a quarter of a century. The design is timeless and whenever we look to update it we find that our wonderful customers love the simplicity and clean lines of this piece. The whole piece is constructed out of solid African hardwood. The top is a solid slab 40mm thick. The legs are 70mm x 70mm sections. The result is a heavy coffee table, but once in position it is worth all the effort of placing it there! Custom sizes can be quoted on – please Contact Us if you would like a quote.

The Material

We use one of our exceptional African Hardwoods to handcraft these fine Safari Coffee Tables. Zambezi Teak, formerly known as Rhodesian Teak, is a very hard, dense timber. It has a beautiful rich red brown colour with interesting figured grain containing black flecks. Because of its hardness, it is difficult to work. We have developed methods of work to handle Zambezi Teak which include tungsten carbide tips to our tools and regular sharpening with diamond wheels.

Uses of the Safari Coffee Table.

Our Safari Coffee Table has been used in a wide variety of situations. From up market homes, to offices and safari Camps around Africa. We have shipped to countries around the world, though because if the weight we normally send by sea freight.

To protect your lacquered finish to your Safari Coffee table please place the desk away from direct sunlight. Apply a good furniture wax or polish, initially twice a month, thereafter once a month. Apply sufficient to thinly cover the surface. As it dries (becomes dull) buff with a clean cloth until a beautiful sheen is achieved. Between waxings, keep the finish clean with a soft cloth or duster, and buff without wax.
