Chobe Stool

From: R3,150.00

The Chobe Stool design is based on our famous Chobe Chair. An elegant but well-built chair with pleasing lines and unique design.

The woven leather or curved hardwood seat is very comfortable. Keep in mind the leather used is raw, natural hide which may have imperfections and colour variations, which only makes the look more authentic.

Perfect for sitting at a dressing table or safari desk writing up the day’s adventures.

The Design

Our Chobe Stool is adapted from our Chobe Chair, to give a light, tough, beautiful stool. Stools are often an afterthought and seldom get much attention from designers. They tend to be boxy and uncomfortable at best. We were looking for a design that would be original but practical and well built. Then we had the proverbial light bulb moment! Our Chobe Chair has had much critical acclaim. No need to re-invent the wheel!

Construction

The secret to the structural integrity of the Chobe dressing table Stool are the very carefully cut mortice and tenon joints that fit perfectly and give a very secure bond. This is combined with the tightening effect of the leather straps that form a very comfortable seat. The holistic effect of tight joints and taught leather is a very secure seat.

Material

We can offer our Chobe Stool in Zambezi Teak or African Mahogany.

Uses

The Chobe Stool is ideal for use in a Safari room at a dressing table or Safari Desk. It is also great as a footstool with any of our Lounge chairs

Your oiled Chobe Stool receives two coats of Satinwood 28 Base oil prior to delivery. Our outlets carry stock, or you can find it in most hardware shops in South Africa. We recommend you re-apply whenever the finish looks faded or dry.

For a lacquered finish please apply a good furniture wax or polish. Apply sufficient to thinly cover the surface. As it dries (becomes dull) buff with a clean cloth until a beautiful sheen is achieved. Between waxings, keep the finish clean with a soft cloth or duster, and buff without wax.

We cannot offer a warrantee on stools except for defects in material and workmanship that affect the integrity of the chair under normal use and weight limits. The reason for this is that stools can be subject to huge stresses when improperly used.

We build with timber harvested from natural forests. The charm of this material is that no two pieces are exactly the same in colour, character or grain, and they will contain natural imperfections such as knots, stress cracks and so on that enhance their authenticity and attractiveness. As a result no 2 pieces will ever be identical and products may have natural imperfections. However, these will never be allowed to compromise the quality of construction of your piece.

The African Touch will not in any circumstances be liable for any claim which falls outside the scope of our warranty or for any consequential damages whatsoever.

We offer 10% discount for 10 or more Chobe Stools ordered and to Professional designers and decorators. Please contact us to arrange your discount.
