Tray Tables

From: R3,654.00

The Tray Table or Serving Tray, is cousin to the Classic Butler’s Tray. It is ergonomically designed to lift and carry with a tray of drinks or tea, or as a stand for our range of Field Bars. The scissor legs fold away for stowage in your Safari vehicle and the tray slots back on very easily. The beautiful colour and grain of the African hardwood from which it is made give it an opulence and value way beyond the simple lines of the design.

Our Tray Tables come in 3 sizes, the Hemingway, Campaign and Safari which fit perfectly the equivalent Field bars of the same name.

The Hemingway is our largest and most luxurious, with its beautifully curved legs and solid brass fittings.

The Tray Table or Serving Tray, is cousin to the Classic Butler’s Tray. It is ergonomically designed to lift and carry with a tray of drinks or tea, or use as a bedside table. The scissor legs fold away for stowage in your Safari vehicle and the tray slots back on very easily. The beautiful colour and grain of the African hardwood from which it is made give it an opulence and value way beyond the simple lines of the design. Timbers used may be Zambezi Teak or African Mahogany. The tray table is designed to allow for the natural movement of the solid hardwood from which it is made. The solid wood base of the tray slides into a groove in the frame that allows it to move. Thus if you take the tray table from a wet to a dry climate you will notice a slight shrinkage of the base. This is completely normal and in the design of the piece. The frame itself is held together with dovetail joints, one of the hardest, but also strongest joints to cut according to Popular Mechanics magazine.

The Tray Table makes an excellent addition to the Hemingway Field Bar , Campaign Field Bar or Safari Field Bar.

Lacquer finish:

To protect your lacquered finish please place your table away from direct sunlight. Apply a good furniture wax or polish, initially twice a month, thereafter once a month. Apply sufficient to thinly cover the surface. As it dries (becomes dull) buff with a clean cloth until a beautiful sheen is achieved. Between waxings, keep the finish clean with a soft cloth or duster, and buff without wax.

Please note that the timber used to hand make an African Touch Tray Table is a natural hardwood that varied in colour and grain, so no two Tray Tables will look exactly the same. Natural knots and growth cracks may be present, but these will not affect the integrity of the piece, but rather add to its charm and appearance.

The African Touch will not in any circumstances be liable for any claim which falls outside the scope of our warranty or for any consequential damages whatsoever.
