Mana River Camp, owned and managed by Machaba Safaris, offers a comfortable, authentic safari experience where guests are welcomed with warmth into a home away from home. Given our expertise in distinct safari and campaign furniture, it only seemed fitting for The African Touch to provide much of the camps furniture pieces.
The beauty of this camp is that it is a mobile tented camp. The whole camp is taken down at the end of each season, before the rains begin. This gives the feeling of the old, real bush, camping experience. Early African safaris were accessible to a privileged few. A caravan of porters carried the fine campaign furniture that was easily knocked down to be assembled at each night’s camp. The African Touch Safari Campaign Collection offers unique designs that are comfortable and functional for every-day use in a mobile tented camp such as Mana River Camp.
There are 6 tents in camp. Each tent is a 3-module Sahara lodge, canvas and gauze tent, with zipped entrances. The tents all have a view of the Zambezi River, and comprises of a veranda with two teak Standard Director’s Chairs with quilted Safari Green canvas, and two teak Expedition Folding Tables. A teak Canvas Wash Stand outside each tent offers guests a place to refresh themselves after a restful night’s sleep or after a long game drive.
Inside the tents we provided teak Folding Leather Luggage Racks with brass corner blocks for that added feel of luxury. Teak Campaign Tray Tables hold a thermos of cold drinking water and glasses. In the main guest areas of the camp, we provided the Standard Director’s Chairs for dining and for use at drinks stops on game drives. Also handy on game drives are our Safari Folding Tables that come in Safari Green ripstop canvas carry bags to protect the tables from getting scratched as well as making them easy to pack up and store when the camp is packed up in the wet season.
The Victoria Falls Bridge Server provides the perfect place to serve food from and store dining ware. An easy piece to move around camp wherever it’s needed. Last but not least, the camps signature piece – The Hemingway Field Bar. An exceptional piece of classic cabinetry that enhances any space and does away with bottle filled bar shelves. It’s a piece that delights all friends and guests who visit Mana River Camp.
