The Design

Our Restaurant Table is a simple but highly rugged 4 seater table design that emphasises the intrinsic beauty, wonderful grain and deep, rich colour of the timber from which it is made, Zambezi Teak.

The table top can be made to the size you require, within limits. The leg arrangement makes for plenty of leg room and the tables can be pushed together to make a larger dining or conference table.

The leg rails and top rails are built in pairs from a single hardwood planks right through the hardwood column. They cross in the column with a tight half-lap joint laminated together and to the column, forming a rigid, solid X. With a depth of 100 mm tapering slightly to the ends the rails have excellent flexor strength and thus create a very stable base for the restaurant table.

Materials used

The Restaurant Table is constructed from beautiful Zambezi Teak, formerly known as Rhodesian Teak. It is an exceptionally hard and durable timber, and thus long-lasting.

Uses of the Restaurant Table.

Naturally this 4 seater table is very suitable for restaurants! The central column means the guest’s legs are not hindered by the table. The square-shaped top allows tables to be set up end to end to make up one long table or in a ‘U’ arrangement for conference rooms. It is used in boardrooms where again it can be set up in different combinations. it is ideal for small homes or flats, and in self-catering lodges for the guests. It is an exceptionally versatile table.

To protect your lacquered finish place tables away from direct sunlight. Apply a good furniture wax or polish, initially twice a month, thereafter once a month. Apply sufficient to thinly cover the surface. As it dries (becomes dull) buff with a clean cloth until a beautiful sheen is achieved. Between waxings, keep the finish clean with a soft cloth or duster, and buff without wax.

At The African Touch we build with timber harvested from natural forests. The charm of this material is that no two pieces are exactly the same in colour, character or grain, and they will contain natural imperfections such as knots, stress cracks and so on that enhance their authenticity and attractiveness.

Solid wood naturally oxidises and darkens with age. Zambezi teak in particular will change from a beautiful light honey brown to a darker rich red brown on exposure to light. This is a natural process so the product you receive will certainly change colour with time and may not look exactly the same as products in brochures or on our web sites.

We give a 1 year warranty against construction and material flaws for your restaurant table. Naturally, any miss handling or inappropriate use of the product will invalidate the warranty. The African Touch will not in any circumstances be liable for any claim which falls outside the scope of our warranty or for any consequential damages whatsoever.

We offer 10% discount for orders of 10 or more Restaurant Tables, and to Professional designers and decorators. The discount will automatically show on your quote request.

Prices include shipping to your nearest main port. Should you require shipment ‘Door to Door’ or to an isolated port we may need to update your quote depending on the extra cost. The price excludes fees at the port of entry (customs clearance, tax such as VAT etc).
